Early childhood educator and Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) teacher and principal with 45 years of experience. Partnered with Department of Defense Education Activity and HIDOE on a $33.2 million grant to upgrade school facilities to reflect 21st century priorities and authored two books, Leading with Aloha and Educating with Aloha.

Vice President of the Hawaii State Teachers Association (HSTA) and elementary school teacher at Nimitz Elementary School. Formerly HSTA secretary-treasurer. Director on the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Former President and CEO of Hawaiian Electric. Practiced law in the areas of water rights, land use, and public utility regulation. Previously involved in numerous public education initiatives such as Hawaiʻi 3R’s and the YMCA of Honolulu.

President and CEO of AHL, a leading architectural, planning, and interior design firm in Hawaii for more than 75 years.  A licensed architect, she has led her team on a multitude of large-scale design and development projects across the state.

As an educator for nearly thirty (30) years, Keone has continuously advocated for the health and wellness of children and youth. Keone also serves on the Hilo Medical Center’s East Hawaii Regional Board and has participated in various task force groups related to improving the lives of children, families, and communities.
