What Our Logo Represents

The Hawai‘i School Facilities Authority (SFA) logo is inspired by the idea of kahua, the Hawaiian word for foundation. Just as a strong foundation supports everything built upon it, the four quadrants of the logo represent the essential elements of HISFA’s work.

  • Red (top left): An open doorway, symbolizing access and opportunity.
  • Blue (top right): The State Capitol, representing government, leadership, and trust.
  • Light blue and green (bottom left): Hawai‘i’s mountains and sky, honoring place and culture.
  • Teal (bottom right): The ocean, symbolizing movement, adaptability, and resilience.

At the center shines a yellow sun, which also forms the shape of a person—reminding us that students, educators, and families are at the heart of everything we do.
